One of the major stumbling blocks to the presentation of the Gospel in our culture today involves astronomy. For decades, public school students (and even seminary students!) have been taught that the world is far older than the Bible chronology suggests, even billions of years older. This naturally causes a disconnect for people, who assume that modern “science” is unbiased and correct.
The author debunks the most accepted teachings about evolution, giving tremendous answers for those struggling to reconcile the Bible and science. Readers are given solid answers to questions about the speed of light, geology, and the big bang.
Take a breathtaking look at the universe that is comprehensive guide to the heavens! Sit back and explore the world at your fingertips in this book which:
• Explains the scale and size of the universe that is hard for our minds to imagine—yet can only indicate the Master’s hand at work.
• Over 50 full-color, rarely seen photos of stars, nebulas, and galaxies.
• Filled with facts that challenge secular theories and models of the universe—how it began and how it continues to amaze the scientific community.
• Explores numerous evidences that point to a young universe: magnetic poles of planets, the spiral shape of galaxies, comets and how long scientists think they can last, and much more.
About the Author:
Dr. Jason Lisle
is a Christian astrophysicist who writes and speaks on various topics relating to science and the defense of the Christian faith. He approaches science from the perspective that God’s Word is true—“the Bible teaches us the truth about origins, and good science confirms what the Bible teaches.” Dr. Lisle graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he double-majored in physics and astronomy and minored in mathematics. He then earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Colorado. He specialized in solar astrophysics and has made a number of scientific discoveries regarding the solar photosphere, including the detection of giant cell boundaries using the SOHO spacecraft. He also does theoretical research and has contributed to the field of general relativity. He is currently the Director of Research for the Institute for Creation Research
where he leadd ICR’s gifted team of scientists who continue to investigate and demonstrate the evidence for creation. His personal research efforts will focus on astrophysics, and developing models of cosmology and stellar aging.
