Starlight, Time and the New Physics

by John Hartnett, Ph.D.

This book details a bold new answer to the distant starlight issue. Many still doubt the Bible’s clear timescale because, they think, it is impossible for light to have reached the Earth in only a few thousand years from stars that are millions of light-years away. This misconception is often the ultimate stumbling block to a straightforward acceptance of the Bible—even the gospel itself.

Many still doubt the Bible’s clear timescale because, they think, it is impossible for light to have reached Earth in only a few thousand years from stars that are millions of light-years away. This is often the ultimate stumbling block to belief in the Bible and its salvation message.

In this exciting new book, physics professor John Hartnett, inspired by the pioneering work of creationist Russell Humphreys, and building on the work of secular cosmologist Moshe Carmeli, shows how the answer to the ‘starlight travel-time problem’ falls out of the same equations that undermine many of the props for big bang thinking.

The main text is easily digestible for the intelligent layperson, with a supporting series of technical appendices for the specialist. Understandable by intelligent laypersons, with technical equations and papers put into 111 pages of appendices for the specialist.

Creation Astronomy
Creation Astronomy is the scientific study of matter in outer space with the goal of determining or measuring properties of distant objects, such as distances, positions, dimensions, distribution, magnitudes, motion, composition, physical condition, energy, evolution, and the causes of their various phenomena. Astronomers research the contents of the Universe from the level of elementary particles to the largest superclusters of galaxies. Creation Astronomers attempt to explain stellar phenomena from the presupposition that celestial bodies were created by God. Most creationists also draw from religious texts like the Bible for insight.

Age of the Earth / Universe
Geochronology is the scientific study of the age of the Earth, and the temporal sequence of events related to the formation of the planet and the history of life on Earth. The word is derived from Geo meaning Earth, and chronology, which is the study of time, or a record of events in the order of their occurrence (timeline). It is from this field of study that fossils and artifacts are dated based on the perceived age of the geological layers in which they are located. Geologists determine the age of rocks, fossils, and sediments using a variety of methods including relative and absolute dating.
