Each sequence of verses teaches the Gospel message to children, answering such questions as:

•How can we know we didn’t evolve from monkeys?
•What did sin do to the world?
•Why are there different languages?
•Why did Jesus have to die?

Many adults today cannot adequately defend their Christian faith because the do not understand the book of Genesis—yet all major Christians doctrines, including salvation, have their foundation in this book of beginnings. Turn to the front of the book and look through the pictures. Each picture is worth a thousand words! When you go through these strikingly colorful and oftentimes humorous illustrations, the Gospel message will be spelled out.

As you read the rhymes, the theology that we all need to know and understand will come alive. And as you read the parent and teacher notes, you will think you are reading a commentary on the book of Genesis that presents the Gospel in a unique way.

You will be excited to go through this book with children of all ages in your home, church, school, or other groups. It will help them to understand and defend the Gospel against the increasing tide of evolutionary humanism that is taking over Western society.

It is our prayer that there will be much “joy in the presence of the angels of God” if the LORD in His infinite mercy should use this publication to bring any to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. That is what this book is all about.

Review:
A is for Adam, authored by Ken and Mally Ham from Answers in Genesis, is a colorful children's flip book that is illustrated with expressive and even humorous characters. The book uses the alphabet as a memory device to teach the account of creation.

Each page features a theme word that is woven into a clever rhythm. The books sits up by itself, so as a parent or teacher reads the story on the back page, the child can gaze at the descriptive cartoon drawing. There are seven different options that can be engaged in by the reader/listener for each page. First, the story is told with rhythm and short, easy-to-repeat “Bible Bits.” Then the book has questions that kept my children, a nine- and three-year-old, focused on the story. Two following sections are activities that are done throughout the week to keep the story in mind. The last part has review questions that encouraged my kids to pay attention because they wanted to give the correct answer.

The last pages of the book have even more information and activities to do for each picture. My nine-year-old enjoyed being the teacher by reading the back page while showing the picture to the three-year-old. I have used and taught Answers in Genesis material for over 10 years, so I was surprised when my 9-year-old was learning new information about Genesis from the book. You could spend anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours on each page, depending on how many of the activities you choose to do.

A is for Adam contains foundational information that all families can benefit from. – Dena Galang, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
