The Ice Age is one of the most difficult eras in geological history for a uniformitarian (those who believe the earth evolved by “slow processes over millions of years”) scientist to explain, simply because long ages of evolution cannot explain it. Many mysterious questions about the Ice Age arise:

• What would cause the summer temperatures of the northern United States and Europe to plummet over 50 degrees Fahrenheit?

• What was the source of the abnormal amount of moisture necessary for heavy snow?
• What caused the cold summer temperatures and heavy snowfall to persist for hundreds of years?
• Why did mammoths become extinct, not only in Siberia, but also across the earth, and at the same time as many other large mammals?
• How could their remains still have partially decayed food in their stomachs?

Author Michael Oard gives plausible explanations of the seemingly unsolvable mysteries about the Ice Age and the woolly mammoths in this intriguing new book. Many other Ice Age topics are explained including super Ice Age floods, ice cores, man in the Ice Age, and the number of ice ages.

About the Author
Michael J. Oard is a creation scientist with a specialization in Atmospheric Science. He is a prolific author who has published numerous books and papers in widely recognized creationist and secular journals. He worked for close to 30 years as a meteorologist/weather forecaster with the (US) National Weather Service, and now dedicates much of his time to creation science research. Mike's research interested have focused primarily on topics such as evidence for Noah's flood, the Ice Age, and the mass extinction of the Woolly Mammoths. He speaks regularly at creation conferences and other venues and has served on the board of directors of the Creation Research Society since 2001.

The Mammoth and the Ice Age
Flood Geology
Creation geology is the study of geology founded on the presupposition that the Biblical flood described in the book of Genesis was a real and historical event of global magnitude, and is therefore also known as flood geology. Creation geologists seek primarily to show that Earth's geologic features are best interpreted within the scope of this Biblical cataclysm; including sedimentary strata, fossilization, fossil fuels, submarine canyons, plate tectonics, salt domes and frozen mammoths.

Biblical Catastrophism
Catastrophism is the theory that massive catastrophes occurred in earth's past, substantially altering the Earth and its life via mountain uplift, rapid deposition, and mass extinctions. According to creation scientists, such an event did occur according to the Biblical account of the Global Flood in the time of Noah.
