Description

Discovery of Design

Scientists frequently look to nature for ideas on new products and solutions to problems. A classic example is Velcro, found in feathers and cockleburs. Several design examples will be presented from animals, plants, and nonliving objects. These examples, present since creation, defy evolutionary explanations.

About the Speaker
Dr. Donald B. DeYoung is an avid creation scientist and educator specializing in astronomy and physics. He chairs the Department of Science and Mathematics at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. Don has taught at Grace College since 1972. Sabbatical travels have taken him to San Diego, Europe and the South Pacific. Dr. DeYoung is the current president of the Creation Research Society with over 1,700 members worldwide. Creation Biology
Creation Biology is the study of biological processes and organisms, while operating under the assumption that God created life on Earth. The discipline is premised on the idea that God created a finite number of discrete created kinds or baramin. While these forms of life have the ability to vary and even undergo speciation, they cannot arise spontaneously from non-life, cannot interbreed outside of their kind, and cannot increase in genetic complexity.

Intelligent Design
Intelligent Design (ID) theory holds that; “certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause, not an undirected process such as natural selection.” ID theorists draw exclusively upon empirical evidence to support the existence of a creative intelligence or designer. ID purports that design can be detected without any understanding of who the designer is or why the agent acted, or even how the phenomenon in question was actually produced.
