Creation Astronomy: Viewing the Universe Through Biblical Glasses
Dr. Jason Lisle (2004)
36 minute seminar (Middle School – Adult)
Genesis teaches that God created the entire universe supernaturally, only thousands of years ago. Yet, most people are convinced that the universe started in a “big bang” billions of years in the past. In this illustrated lecture, astronomer Dr. Jason Lisle shows viewers that when the evidence of nature is understood properly, it lines up perfectly with the clear teachings of Scripture. The heavens declare the glory of God!

He approaches science from the perspective that God’s Word is true—“the Bible teaches us the truth about origins, and good science confirms what the Bible teaches.” Dr. Lisle graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he double-majored in physics and astronomy and minored in mathematics. He then earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Colorado. He specialized in solar astrophysics and has made a number of scientific discoveries regarding the solar photosphere, including the detection of giant cell boundaries using the SOHO spacecraft. He also does theoretical research and has contributed to the field of general relativity. He is currently the Director of Research for the Institute for Creation Research
where he leadd ICR’s gifted team of scientists who continue to investigate and demonstrate the evidence for creation. His personal research efforts will focus on astrophysics, and developing models of cosmology and stellar aging.
